About The Directory
Why it exists
Finding a good solicitor, accountant or agency in the North East should be simple. In practice, searching for one usually turns up national comparison sites, paid listings and review pages, and the region's own companies get lost among them.
The Directory is a plain, free list of the companies North East businesses turn to for professional services, all with offices here. It covers law, accountancy, property, marketing, PR, architecture, engineering, recruitment, IT, insurance, HR and corporate finance, across the region's 12 council areas.
It is made by Review North, the publication covering the North East economy, edited by Stephen Davies, who is from County Durham. Reporting on the region means keeping track of who does what, and The Directory puts that record in one place for anyone to use.
How it works
Every company listed has a staffed office in the North East and offers services to businesses. Sole traders are not listed. Details come from each company's own website, and each page shows the date they were last checked. There are no reviews, ratings or rankings, and no named individuals.
Privacy and removal
The Directory lists companies, not people. An entry holds only what a company publishes on its own website: its name, services, offices, telephone numbers, general email address and links to its website and LinkedIn page.
If something is wrong, use the "Report a correction" link on the company's page. If you represent a company and want its entry changed or removed, email editor@reviewnorth.co.uk from an address at the company's own domain. We act on requests within 10 working days.
